When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. ― John Lennon

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
― John Lennon

Everybody wants to be happy. As a kid growing up I imagined different careers and paths in my future, and the ones that appealed to me most were the ones I thought would make me happy.

My Mom and Dad listened to music on our home stereo constantly. The most played group happened to be The Beatles. I heard almost every song the group made, and as they took on their solo careers, I heard most of their solo music as well.

It’s pretty clear who was the leader of the band. His quote about being happy always resonated heavily with me, and many others. Through the years there have been many studies on what makes people happy.

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
― John Lennon

Another quote to take a look at is the one by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
