Aristotle believed the brain only served like a radiator to an engine. The function was to “cool the passions of the heart”. He said the human brain’s large size was because humans need large brains to cool their warm hearts. Aristotle meant not only focusing on developing the cognitive aspects (our brains) but also all the qualities that make us human (our hearts) and ultimately give us meaning in our lives.
Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.
Aristotle (384 BC–322 BC)
